The Smiley Couple|On the road to Hobbiton
In my mind, they'll always be the smiley couple. From the moment I met them, they barely stopped smiling. They were full of happiness, laughter and excitement, making every single photo a joy to capture.
I was only booked for an hour and a half, but this wedding is proof that you don't need an all-day celebration to create beautiful memories. Their ceremony took place in a little reserve on the side of the road, just a few minutes from Hobbiton. It might sound unusual, but it suited them perfectly.
They had travelled over from Denmark, dreaming of an intimate New Zealand elopement inspired by their love of Hobbiton. After saying "I do," they headed off to explore Hobbiton together, still dressed in their wedding attire. I honestly can't think of a more fun way to celebrate.
It was one of those sessions where everything just clicked. Their joy was completely infectious, and because they were so relaxed and genuinely happy, every photograph felt effortless. I don't think I've ever delivered so many images I absolutely loved from such a short amount of time.
If there's one thing this wedding reminds me of, it's that your wedding doesn't have to follow tradition. It doesn't have to look like anyone else's. Whether it's a big celebration or an intimate elopement in a roadside reserve, the best weddings are the ones that reflect who you are.
